We try to visit Oriental Bazaar on every trip to Tokyo. Sure, it's kitschy and obviously there for tourists, but it's a fantastic place to pick up traditional gifts like kimono, yukata, and japanese paintings and the more modern, like elaborate mobile phone tags. You can find something here for everyone. A favorite gift of ours is toothpicks in a silk toothpick holder complete with mirror -- don't ask why. It spans several floors so you can spend a couple of hours wandering around.
